DETAILED EXAMINATION REALME U1

Since Realme broke with Oppo, the company has experienced a launch frenzy, which was launched in the entry-level and mid-range price segment. So far, its USP key has achieved a unique design language for a phone with a fairly standard feature set. Now we have the Realme U1, the company’s budget device with a similar design to Honor phones, but it is the first smartphone with a Helio P70 processor. Does the Realme U1 offer enough performance and style quotients to take on the heavyweights of the middle class? How we like each other.

CONSTRUCTION AND DISPOSAL

The Realme U1 could be an honorary phone from Genuso. It’s not a joke. The company does not use a diamond cut finish and is designed for a simple appearance on the back. The uniqueness lies in the color processing. We have the “fire gold” variant, and the back reflects light in such a way that it looks like a multi-colored surface. Honestly, it doesn’t matter if honor did it first, Realme U1 does it too. The gold variant is not a personal favorite, but there are people who will love the golden-pink shades with a silver stripe around the fingerprint sensor and the camera module.

The frame of the U1 is painted in gold compared to the back, and this one is darker. The frame itself is not made of metal and resembles a polycarbonate shell. The screen of the N’ is not flush with the frame and protrudes slightly. This makes us suspicious of its durability, since in matter of a fall, the edge of the screen may come into contact with the hard tip. Fortunately, there is a screen protector pre-installed on the screen, but I can’t say how important it is to use this phone in the included cover.

In general, the build quality of the Realme U1 Premium seems, but only surprises. It is a lightweight smartphone that uses glass and polycarbonate to reduce weight relative to the individual points of build quality.

MAP

The Realme U1 features a 6.3-inch IPS display with a 2340 x 1080 display and a pixel density of approximately 409 ppi. The screen has a potion-shaped notch, which includes the 25-megapixel front-facing camera and does not interfere too honestly. At first glance, the screen looks like a solid panel until we started testing.

Our luxometer sets the maximum brightness of the panel to a scant 120 lux, well below what we received. The Realme 2pro also registered a maximum brightness of 512 lux in our test, but the 115 lux value was terribly intoxicating. In addition, the illumination of the panel is uneven, since the upper screen supports 112 lux, and the lower one – 120 lux. It is possible that this is an isolated problem with the exam unit we received, but the maximum brightness is certainly an issue.

Direct help from above is also a problem when it comes to using the phone in daylight. While the text is largely readable, interest in the content is a bit difficult, especially if the videos have dark scenes. The screen protector also contributes to the reflectivity of the EIB and creates obstacles on the screen. Everything is outside. However, things are pleasantly well inside. The use of these phones in the office is quite possible for every need.

During this review, we have introduced the phone brightness in the car and we have no problems except occasional coverage when using the phone outdoors in bright light. The third situation for our tests was using the phone in bed, in complete darkness. The phone screen can justify up to 2 lux, which means you can enjoy in bed and we found that it is a good device for reading bedtime.

Finally, despite a FullHD announcement, Realme U1 can only stream FullHD content from YouTube and other open services thanks to the Widevine L3 certification. This means that you can stream FullHD videos without inhalation from Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Viewing the Realme U1 is an experience that is easily common. It’s normal that you can’t stream FullHD content from Netflix and Prime videos, but the maximum brightness of 120 lux is certainly an issue that affects outdoor usability. Fortunately, this is a feature that can be handled to some extent by software updates, but hopefully Realme will actually do it.”
