The Huawei Watch is a well-built smartwatch with a smooth and flowing design, decent performance and several standard dials. It is one of the best Android Wear smartwatches built so far. Nothing is really groundbreaking here, but Huawei has done a lot of good with the Huawei Watch.
DETAILED REVIEW OF THE HUAWEI WATCH
When the Huawei Watch was launched in India, Huawei sales manager P. Sanjeev announced Huawei’s target for high-end watch buyers with this smartwatch. It may not have looked very promising at the time, but there’s still more to a device than meets the eye at first glance.
This is exactly what the Huawei Watch did. It didn’t look very attractive at launch, but after more than a week of use (quite hectic), I’m quite impressed with what Huawei has been doing here. The Huawei Watch does not test sophisticated actions and is also not overloaded with a huge number of functions, most of which may not be used. What he does is stick to the basics, and that’s fine. Let me explain how.
Construction, design and exhibition
I used the 42mm chrome version of the Huawei Watch. First of all, the Huawei watch has a weight that radiates confidence as soon as you wear it. The larger cover of the watch gives Huawei a lot of space to place the technology inside, and this, along with the very well-built cover, also contributes to the density of the smartwatch cover, which is essential for high-end watch buyers. Most premium wrist equipment has a slightly higher body density with an even weight distribution, which makes the watches pleasantly heavy on the wrist. The Huawei Watch achieves just that, taking a step towards fulfilling its promise of being a “premium” smartwatch.
Huawei has given up on releasing sophisticated innovations for the Huawei Watch that give its design a classic and timeless feature that adds to its class. The 42mm chrome-plated frame penetrates inside to accommodate the beautiful laminated sapphire crystal. While most smartwatches opt for Corning Gorilla Glass, the inclusion of sapphire crystal is instead a choice of design and durability fused into one.
The sapphire crystal is very resistant to scratches and accidental bumps on rough surfaces, in addition to great clarity and has a very smooth surface.
There is a single button to navigate through the menus and options, which is placed aligned with the marker at two o’clock. The response is smooth and there is a satisfactory two-step click on the button confirming the quality. The quality of the bracelets is decent and it has a standard lock that allows you to easily change the bracelets as and when you need them. The 1.4-inch AMOLED display contains 400 x 400 pixels of color and light data, which corresponds to a screen density of 286 ppi. Although it may not be the highest in terms of number, the AMOLED panel is sharp, has high brightness, deep blacks and provides a smooth tactile response. It barely misses a touch or a swipe, and the contrast levels make the watch’s display smooth and pleasing to the eye if necessary.
In conclusion, the Huawei Watch is a well-built and smoothly processed wrist with intelligent integrated elements. It does almost all the basic elements correctly and makes it stylish. It has a smooth and heavy body, a durable exterior, a beautiful screen and easily replaceable bracelets, which together make the Huawei Watch a very competent package.
